Actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, has explained why she is frequently cast in witch and villainous roles in movies, saying the characters allow her to expose the consequences of evil and injustice.

The actress made the remarks during a livestream interview with popular Nigerian streamer Carter Efe on Monday after she was asked why she often portrays witches in films.

Responding, Ozokwo said the roles align with her belief in promoting moral values and discouraging wrongdoing.

“God carved that niche for me to be able to, I think, expose every ill. God created me to expose it,” she said.

She added, “I hate injustice. I hate war. I hate anything that shows rancour.”

According to the actress, she approaches such roles with the intention of helping viewers understand the consequences of negative behaviour.

“So when He gave me that kind of role, I try to bring out everything I know about it, that if you are taking part in any of them, you will be careful and know the end thereof,” she said.

She added that through such roles, she hopes audiences will understand the consequences of living a bad life and the rewards of choosing what is right.

“You know what will happen to you if you live a terrible life. And you know what you gain if you are a good person,” she said.
