Burna Boy hits 644m monthly audience on YouTube music

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has recorded a massive 644 million monthly audience on YouTube Music, emerging as the highest-ranked artist among the platform’s current top five Nigerian acts.

The latest YouTube Music rankings viewed by our correspondent on Monday, show Burna Boy with 6.41 million subscribers and a 644 million monthly audience, ahead of Asake, who has 2.06 million subscribers and 11.6 million monthly audience, Wizkid with 3.67 million subscribers and 24.2 million monthly audience, Seyi Vibez with 500,000 subscribers and 3.28 million monthly audience, and Davido with 5.04 million subscribers and 25.4 million monthly audience.

Also making the platform’s top 10 are Omah Lay with 2.78 million subscribers, BNXN with 506,000 subscribers, Young Jonn with 457,000 subscribers, Rema with 5.55 million subscribers, and Odumodublvck with 310,000 subscribers.

The latest feat adds to Burna Boy’s impressive run on global streaming platforms. It comes shortly after the “African Giant” crooner became the African artist with the highest monthly listeners on Spotify, peaking at 46.84 million monthly listeners to surpass South African star Tyla’s previous record of 46.58 million.

The Spotify milestone has been driven largely by the global success of “Dai Dai,” Burna Boy’s collaboration with Colombian music icon Shakira.

The song, selected as the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, gained worldwide traction following its opening ceremony performance, boosting the singer’s global audience and reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s biggest streaming stars.
